LENNOXVILLE, QC – May 26, 2026 – In an unprecedented broadcast collaboration, CJMQ 88.9 FM, CIDI 99.1 FM, and CFLX 95.5 FM are joining forces for a major live broadcasting event. On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the three stations will host a special  Community Radio Celebration live from Square Queen Park in Lennoxville from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

This joint celebration highlights the power of independent, volunteer-driven airwaves in preserving local culture, supporting regional business, and keeping the community connected.

The live on-site broadcast, helmed by veteran radio hosts Ted Silver and Derek Bullard, features a packed lineup of special guests, local business owners, and prominent leaders.

Event Highlights Include:

The Main Street Minute: Spotlights on local business operations with Catherine Amyot (Symbiose Massags) and Adam Labaree (ALP Productions).

Political & Regional Insights: Live and prerecorded discussions with Sherbrooke Mayor Marie-Claude Bibeau, MPs Élisabeth Brière and Marianne Dandurand, and Borough Councillor Claude Charron.

Radio Bingo & Youth Media: A live interactive Bingo hour at 1:00 PM with Gordon and the station DJ Truck, followed by a look at the upcoming generation featuring Secretary of Youth Anna Gainey.

National Support: Alex Friedman, Director of the Community Radio Fund, will arrive live from Ottawa to discuss the importance of funding independent local stations.

“Bringing CJMQ, CIDI, and CFLX together at Square Queen Park shows the true strength of community radio,” says CJMQ host Derek Bullard. “This is a free event to pull back the curtain on live broadcasting, engage directly with our listeners, and champion independent local media.”

The public is invited to listen in and participate in open-mic segments.
