FLEURIMONT, October 29th 2026 – Sherbrooke police have launched an investigation after a woman’s body was discovered outdoors at Desranleau Park on Thursday morning.

According to the Service de police de Sherbrooke (SPS), officers responded to the park, located at 1731 Chemin Galvin, at approximately 8 a.m. after a passerby reported finding the body.

Police have not yet confirmed the woman’s identity or the circumstances surrounding her death.

An investigation is currently underway to determine what happened, with authorities stating that no possibilities have been ruled out at this stage.

Investigators from the Sherbrooke Police Service will work alongside Quebec’s coroner’s office to establish the circumstances of the death.

An autopsy will also be required to determine the exact cause of death.

At this time, police have not indicated whether foul play is suspected or whether the death is being treated as suspicious.

The SPS has confirmed that no additional information will be released until investigators receive the results of the necessary examinations.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not provided a timeline for when further details may become available.
