Sherbrooke, September 18, 2024 – Around 7:30 PM, patrol officers noticed a vehicle driving with its lights off on Cate Street. When the driver saw the police, they sped off, committing several traffic violations before fleeing. A general alert was issued to officers in the area to try and locate the suspect vehicle.
Moments later, another patrol unit spotted the vehicle heading east on King Ouest. As the officers turned around to pursue, they noticed a cloud of white smoke at the intersection of King Ouest and Jacques Cartier. The suspect vehicle had crashed into several other vehicles and was caught in traffic.
Officers quickly arrived at the scene to apprehend the driver, who fled once again at high speed. The police stayed behind to assist those involved in the collision.
In total, three vehicles were involved in the crash. Fortunately, most people sustained minor injuries, although one individual was transported to the hospital. The suspect has not yet been located, but the investigation is progressing well.
