Sherbrooke, October 3, 2024 – Last night, around 6 PM, a witness parked in the lot of a convenience store on Larocque Street in Sherbrooke observed a woman attempting to make a phone call using her credit card as a cellphone. Concerned, the witness noted that the woman appeared unsteady and possibly intoxicated.

After the woman got into her vehicle and drove away, the witness contacted the police, providing a description of the vehicle and its license plate. A short time later, the vehicle was located parked on Darche Street. Other witnesses positioned their vehicle in front of the suspect’s car to prevent her from leaving.

Police arrived shortly afterward and arrested the 50-year-old woman for impaired driving. She was found to have more than twice the legal alcohol limit in her system. The woman was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
