Sherbrooke, February 3, 2024 – A routine traffic stop took a dangerous turn early this morning when police intercepted a vehicle near 3375 rue King Ouest around 2:30 AM.
Four individuals were inside the vehicle, and officers conducted multiple checks. During a search of one of the passengers, officers discovered that the man was wearing a bulletproof vest and had a loaded, sawed-off .22-caliber firearm hidden on him.
🚔 Immediate Arrest & Charges
The 25-year-old man was arrested on the spot, while the three other occupants were identified and released.
He now faces multiple charges, including:
🔹 Possession of a prohibited firearm
🔹 Carrying a concealed weapon
🔹 Negligent storage of a firearm
🔹 Breach of court order
🔹 Possession of narcotics
🔬 Further Investigation Underway
The seized firearm has been sent for forensic analysis, and additional charges may be laid depending on the results.
