RICHMOND, September 18th – Québec solidaire candidate David Poulin-Latulippe says improving access to mental health care would be one of his priorities if elected in Richmond.
In an interview with Good Morning Townships, Poulin-Latulippe drew on nearly 25 years as a clinical psychologist, including work with Inuit communities in Nunavik. He said those experiences motivated him to enter provincial politics and address what he describes as long waiting lists for mental health services. Poulin-Latulippe is also a co-founder of Humano Clinique in Sherbrooke.
The candidate also discussed the cost of living, housing and transportation. He highlighted Québec solidaire proposals including public grocery stores, limits on rent increases, financial assistance for first-time homebuyers and increased investment in public transit.
On healthcare, Poulin-Latulippe said Québec solidaire would seek to strengthen local services, including CLSCs, and increase staffing across the healthcare and social-service sectors.
He also addressed Richmond’s English-speaking community, saying French-language protection and access to services for English-speaking Quebecers can coexist.
Poulin-Latulippe said local media and community radio remain important sources of information for residents.
