Sherbrooke, September 25, 2024 – On Tuesday morning around 10 AM, a citizen called the Sherbrooke Police to report finding drugs in a wooded area near Golconda Street. Responding officers confirmed that the bag found contained approximately 2,000 pills suspected to be methamphetamines and packets of white powder resembling cocaine. Upon further inspection, they also discovered a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.
Following these discoveries, the police launched a surveillance operation in the area to track down the owners of the seized items. By 2 PM, two individuals, aged 31 and 17, were arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to traffic and possession of a prohibited firearm. Both suspects are currently detained and will be interviewed by the investigations division before their court appearances.
