Sherbrooke, September 3, 2024 – Sherbrooke emergency services responded to a series of suspicious fires early this morning, prompting investigations across three different locations in the city.

The first incident occurred around 3:40 AM at 1105 Valence Road. Firefighters were called to the scene, where they battled a building fire. Police were also on-site to secure the area during the firefighting efforts. According to the fire inspector, the blaze is being treated as potentially suspicious, and patrol officers will remain on the scene as the investigation begins.

Shortly after, at 5:30 AM, emergency services were dispatched to 765 Papineau Street, where debris in flames was reported in front of a building. The fire was swiftly contained, and no injuries were reported. However, police have classified this incident as suspicious and have initiated an investigation.

The third incident was reported at 5:40 AM by a passerby who noticed a fire beginning at a building located at 755 Cabana Street. Firefighters and police responded promptly, with police securing the scene as the fire was brought under control. This fire is also considered suspicious, and the scene remains protected as investigations continue.

Sherbrooke police have launched investigations into all three fires. While no connections between the incidents have been established, authorities are not ruling out any possibilities at this stage. Further updates are expected as the investigations progress.
