Young Voices Big Questions as Kids Sit Down with Liberal MP Élisabeth Brière Derek Bullard
Sherbrooke, May 1, 2025 – In this week’s Reaching Out to the Community, CJMQ spoke with Isabelle Grenier, Executive Director of the Fondation du Centre jeunesse de l’Estrie, about a powerful initiative aimed at helping youth under child protection transition into independent living.
Grenier, who recently left politics to work directly with vulnerable youth, calls this leap “un grand saut”—her big bet on making a real difference. The Foundation’s current donation drive is focused on providing everyday essentials for young people starting life on their own. Items needed include kitchen supplies, towels, bedding, books for teens, school supplies, and sports equipment. Donations must be clean, complete, and in good condition.
The donation blitz runs this weekend at 470 rue Victoria, Sherbrooke:
Friday, May 2 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
Saturday, May 3 (8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
Sunday, May 4 (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
Clothing, toys for children under six, and damaged or incomplete items cannot be accepted.
As Grenier shared, “It’s not the quantity that counts, it’s the intention.” Every small gesture helps a young person feel seen, supported, and hopeful.
