Petition Circulating to Bar Donald Trump from Canada

Alberta, February 26, 2025 – Gerard Aldridge from Fairview, Alberta, launched an online petition calling on the Government of Canada to refuse entry to Donald J. Trump until he ceases making threats that endanger Canada’s monetary and sovereign security. The petition asserts that Trump’s criminal past and his role in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol present a clear risk to Canadian security, arguing that his words and actions could potentially threaten the well-being of Canadians.

Over the course of a month, the petition gained significant traction among Canadian citizens, drawing widespread support from those concerned about national security and the image of Canada on the international stage. The petition remained open for signatures until March 22, 2025, at 4:38 p.m. EDT.  As of February 26, 2025 it has a total of 34,265 signatures.
