Coalition Avenir Québec candidate Alison Turner highlights vision ahead for Orford of October 5th election

ORFORD, September 25th 2026 – Coalition Avenir Québec candidate Alison Turner says affordability, health care, housing and environmental protection are among the main concerns she is hearing from residents during the campaign in Orford.

Speaking on CJMQ’s Good Morning Townships, Turner said access to affordable housing and basic services has been a recurring issue in conversations with residents, municipalities and community organizations.

On health care, Turner highlighted proposals to train more doctors in regional collaboration with universities and health institutions. She also discussed expanding the responsibilities of nurses and paramedics, creating an order of paramedics and increasing the use of telemedicine. She said private health services could also complement Quebec’s public system.

Turner pointed to proposed tax credits for first-time homebuyers and intergenerational housing, as well as additional funding for affordable housing for seniors.

Environmental protection was another priority, particularly concerns surrounding Lac Memphremagog and contamination from activities in Vermont.

Turner also emphasized the importance of local journalism, saying community radio provides residents with information about local services and issues.

She said the CAQ’s broader economic plan and proposed changes to government funding would support municipalities and community organizations across Orford.
