Sherbrooke, October 15, 2024 – The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility informs the public that the new overpass at the Darche interchange will be partially opened on October 17. As with the temporary structure, only one lane per direction will be available until the complete opening of the interchange, scheduled for this fall.
Partial road closures will allow for final work on the structure and surrounding areas, focusing mainly on roadway foundations, drainage, and paving. Drivers are advised to avoid the area or plan for additional travel time. Traffic will be directed by road flaggers.
The duration of the work and closures may change due to operational constraints or weather conditions. Drivers are encouraged to consult Québec 511 for detailed updates on road conditions and closures.
Highlights:
- Alongside the partial opening of the new interchange, the temporary bridge will be closed and dismantled.
- This step is necessary to complete the relocation and reconstruction of the Lyon Creek culvert and its water connection.
- Four non-consecutive days are planned for the dismantling process, requiring overnight closures of Highway 410.
- A full closure of Highway 410 is also anticipated in the coming weeks for paving work.
