SHERBROOKE, September 26th 2026 – Centre Culturel Le Parvis, a cultural landmark in Fleurimont, is entering a new chapter under its recently appointed interim general director, Gabriel D’Astous.

Speaking with Good Morning Townships on CJMQ 88.9 FM, D’Astous outlined his vision for expanding artistic diversity, improving accessibility, and strengthening connections with Sherbrooke’s English-speaking community.

His priorities include introducing new performances, such as drag and burlesque shows, while exploring ways to make venue rentals more affordable for emerging local artists.

D’Astous also emphasized the importance of bilingual communication, hoping to introduce more English-language programming and collaborate with Anglophone media outlets.

Meanwhile, Le Parvis is preparing for the return of its annual Christmas market on December 5. Local artists and craftspeople, including Anglophone creators, are encouraged to register before October 14.

Looking ahead, the organization is developing a three-year strategic plan focused on accessibility, cultural diversity, and community engagement.

Through these initiatives, D’Astous hopes to strengthen Le Parvis as an inclusive cultural destination where artists and residents throughout Sherbrooke can connect, collaborate, and celebrate creativity together.
