SHERBROOKE, September 25th 2026 – Canadian guitarist Jesse Cook is bringing his latest musical project to Sherbrooke, performing at the Granada Theatre on September 27 as part of his tour for his new album, Past the Breakwater.

Released September 18, the album represents a quieter direction for Cook, who is known for blending flamenco, rumba, jazz and classical influences. Cook said he wanted the new record to create a more spacious and tranquil listening experience, inspired in part by jazz albums he returns to when he wants to settle into a particular mood.

The album began as a collection of musical ideas that Cook developed while staying at a cabin in the woods. The resulting record primarily features guitar, with double bass and light percussion added to maintain its intimate sound.

For the Sherbrooke performance, Cook is touring with a four-piece band featuring Quebec musicians Will Lamoureux on violin and Caroline Plante on guitar, alongside Cuban percussion and Cook himself.

Cook said the concert will move between quieter, introspective pieces and more energetic songs from his catalogue, creating what he describes as a different experience for longtime fans.
