Sherbrooke, February 7, 2025 – The Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) responded to a busy evening on Thursday as numerous calls were made regarding minor accidents and fender benders caused by heavy snowfall.

Nearly twenty incidents were reported to the emergency call center, prompting police to remind motorists of key safety measures in case of an accident:

  • For minor accidents without injuries, there is no need to wait for police; a mutual accident report is sufficient.
  • If your vehicle is still drivable, move to a safe location to avoid further hazards.
  • Drivers involved in an accident must exchange identification and vehicle information.
  • In cases involving injuries or traffic obstructions, contact the police immediately.
  • Finally, notify your insurance provider as soon as possible.

To complete a mutual accident report, drivers should have their driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance certificate on hand.
