UPDATE Suspicious Death in Sherbrooke

Sherbrooke, October 1, 2024 -At around 1:50 PM, Sherbrooke police were called to the area behind 150 rue des Grandes-Fourches Sud, where a citizen reported discovering a deceased person near the banks of the Saint-François River. The Sherbrooke Fire Department’s watercraft was also dispatched to assist. Police are currently securing the scene, and the criminal investigations division, along with a forensic technician, will be on site shortly to begin the investigation.

Update October 2, 2024 – Sherbrooke

The Sherbrooke Police have confirmed that the body discovered is that of a 68-year-old man. An autopsy will be required to officially confirm his identity. The coroner is now collaborating with investigators, and all possible causes and circumstances surrounding the death are still being explored. The investigation remains ongoing.
