Weekend Arrests in Sherbrooke for Impaired Driving and Drug Possession

Sherbrooke, October 21, 2024 – Since Friday evening, Sherbrooke police have made several arrests for impaired driving due to alcohol. Below are the details of the weekend interventions:

  • October 19, 1:58 AM: Police responded to a call from a concerned citizen who observed a driver stopped at a drive-thru at 3065 King Ouest, appearing intoxicated. Officers arrived and arrested the 37-year-old driver for impaired driving. He was brought to police headquarters, where he failed sobriety tests.
  • October 19, 5:50 PM: Officers were called to investigate a vehicle stuck after veering off the road near 1057 Chemin Dion. The 22-year-old driver was arrested for impaired driving and also failed the tests at police headquarters.

Both drivers have been released, their driver’s licenses suspended, and their vehicles seized. They are scheduled to appear in criminal court at a later date.

  • October 19, 5:00 PM: During a routine patrol on Aberdeen Street, an officer noticed a traffic violation and stopped the vehicle. The officer found the passenger holding a bag containing illicit cannabis. Upon searching the individual, the officer seized cannabis, four wax pens, $130 in cash, a cellphone, and a can of pepper spray. The 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of cannabis for distribution and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was released with a summons.
