Rock Forest Water Tower Transformed for Halloween with Unique Light Projections Derek Bullard
Sherbrooke, November 14, 2024 – In the latest episode of Reaching Out to the Community on CJMQ 88.9 FM, host Derek Bullard welcomed Marie-Claude Cyr, Communications Coordinator at Conseil Sport Loisir de l’Estrie, to discuss an exciting new initiative, Novembre en Action. This project, offers free sports opportunities to youth aged 6 to 12 across the Eastern Townships.
Cyr explained that the project stemmed from a regional multi-sport meeting where supporting local sports clubs and expanding access to sports for youth became a top priority. Through an open house format, Novembre en action allows local sports clubs to showcase their activities and reach a wider audience. Thanks to the program, kids can experience a range of sports at no cost, creating inclusive opportunities for all families.
The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, with many families trying multiple sports, building memorable moments, and encouraging active lifestyles. Given its success, Cyr shared that a spring edition with summer sports may be in the works.
The program runs through the end of November. For details on upcoming events, visit the Conseil Sport Loisir de l’Estrie’s Facebook page.
