Suspicious Car Fire Under Investigation in Bromptonville

Sherbrooke, June 5, 2025 – A suspicious vehicle fire has prompted a police investigation in the Bromptonville sector of Sherbrooke.

At approximately 11:50 a.m. Thursday morning, a witness called 9-1-1 to report an Audi car engulfed in flames at the intersection of Laval and Saint-Joseph streets. Emergency services responded quickly, with both police and firefighters arriving on the scene shortly afterward.

Fortunately, responders confirmed that no one was inside the vehicle at the time of the fire. After extinguishing the flames, a preliminary analysis by authorities indicated that the fire’s origin is considered suspicious.

The area has been secured by police, and an investigation is now underway. Investigators, a fire inspector, and a forensic identification technician are expected to examine the scene throughout the afternoon.
