Cowansville, December 4, 2025 – The Sûreté du Québec has confirmed that the body discovered on November 28 in Sutton is that of Robert Farr, a 46-year-old man from Cowansville who had been missing since October 31.
The discovery was made by investigators from the Service des enquêtes sur les crimes contre la personne, with the assistance of police dog handlers and officers from the emergency measures unit. Formal identification of the remains was completed in the days following the recovery.
Authorities had previously indicated that investigative leads surrounding Farr’s disappearance suggested he may have been the victim of a violent crime.
Following several investigative steps, police arrested James Godue, 38, on November 11 for murder, and Kamille Saindon, 32, for being an accessory after the fact. Both suspects appeared in court the same day and remain in custody.
On December 3, while still detained, James Godue was rearrested and formally charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a human body. These new charges follow the official identification of Farr’s body.
The Sûreté du Québec is continuing its investigation and is asking anyone with information related to the case — or any other criminal or suspicious activity — to contact the Criminal Information Centre at 1-800-659-4264.
