Sherbrooke, February 18, 2026 – The Sherbrooke Police Department (SPS) has issued an urgent appeal to the public to help locate 16-year-old Loïc Ferland, who has been missing since Tuesday evening.

Loïc was last seen at approximately 7:30 PM on February 17, 2026, in the downtown Sherbrooke area. Authorities state they have specific reasons to be concerned for his health and safety.

Description and Distinctive Features
Loïc Ferland is described as a white male, approximately 5’8” (173 cm) tall, weighing about 115 lbs (52 kg) with a slim build. He has short brown/auburn hair and hazel eyes. He is French-speaking.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing:

A grey, orange, and black FXR brand jacket.

Navy blue pants and black boots.

A navy blue tuque.

Grey and orange mittens.

Distinctive Accessory: Light purple (mauve) headphones.

He may also be wearing a forest green camouflage vest.

A Growing Concern
The disappearance of minors remains a significant concern across the province. According to data from the Missing Children’s Network, Quebec saw over 6,600 reports of missing children in 2024 alone. Statistics show that roughly 61% of missing youth reports involve males, and while the vast majority of cases are resolved within the first week, police emphasize that the first 24 to 48 hours are critical for a safe recovery.
