Local Rivalries Heat Up as Senior AA Hockey Enters Week Three

EASTERN TOWNSHIPS, October 11th – High-scoring games, passionate crowds and early-season surprises are bringing excitement to the Ligue régionale de hockey senior AA as the league enters its third week.

Robert Legault, the league’s communications director, joined Good Morning Townships to discuss the season’s opening results and the importance of community support.

Week two featured Princeville’s 7-3 victory over defending champions Lac-Mégantic and Coaticook’s dominant 13-2 win against Val-des-Sources. Legault explained that unpredictable results are part of senior hockey, where players balance competition with work and other commitments, often leaving teams with limited practice time and changing lineups.

Community involvement remains central to the league’s identity. In Windsor, nearly 700 fans watched the Wild secure a 5-1 victory over Saint-Cyrille, demonstrating strong local enthusiasm.

Looking ahead, Legault highlighted Friday’s matchup between undefeated Coaticook and Windsor, both sitting at 2-0. With only 20 games in the regular season, every result matters.

The league also continues to offer $10 adult admission, providing families with an affordable evening of hockey.

Fans can follow schedules, player updates and team news through the league’s website and social media channels.
