LENNOXVILLE, October 22nd 2026 – Mon Shack… Mes choix… Mon avenir!, a nonprofit organization supporting adults living with mental health challenges, is expanding access to community-based wellness services through three new partnerships.

Founder and executive director Josée Parent says collaborations with Cuisine collective Le Blé d’Or, Mam’zelles Lunettes and La Cordée will provide cooking workshops, affordable optical consultations and wellness activities. The initiatives were made possible through financial support from the NEXCAP Foundation.

The collective cooking workshops aim to encourage healthy eating, strengthen food security and create opportunities for social connection. Meanwhile, optician Marie-Ève Lacharité offers consultations at the organization’s offices, with affordable services available to the wider community.

Based on College Street in Lennoxville, Mon Shack operates 40 supervised apartments and provides professional support to help residents develop independence and participate in community life.

Parent says future projects include developing additional housing for older adults living with mental health challenges and conducting research with Bishop’s University and the Université de Sherbrooke to explore how the organization’s recovery model could be expanded.

The partnerships highlight the role of local initiatives in improving access to wellness resources and supporting mental health recovery across the Eastern Townships.
