October 20th, Sherbrooke – The 48th edition of the Salon du livre de l’Estrie brought together approximately 225 publishing houses in Sherbrooke, celebrating literature, creativity and community engagement during four days of literary activities.

The annual event welcomed authors, publishers and book enthusiasts, offering exhibitions, roundtable discussions, book signings and opportunities for visitors to discover new literary works.

Olivier Courtois, manager of the Salon, highlighted the extensive coordination required to organize an event of this scale. Having assumed his position in May, Courtois emphasized the importance of partnerships, volunteers and logistical planning in bringing hundreds of publishers together.

Among the exhibitors was La Maison Anglaise, a Quebec City bookstore specializing in English-language literature, making its first appearance at the Sherbrooke event.

The Salon also provided opportunities for emerging authors, including Maude Lemay, whose children’s literature, Matteo, explores emotional development in kids, and Maxime Raymond, co-author of the illustrated children’s book Radio Rosalie.

Now in its 48th edition, the Salon du livre de l’Estrie continues to serve as a gathering place for Quebec’s literary community, connecting established publishers, emerging writers and readers across the region.
