Eastern Townships Food Technology Featured in Artemis II Mission Joshua Bullard
SHERBROOKE, May 14th, 2026 — What began as a small offseason hockey project between a handful of professional players has quickly evolved into a growing summer hockey event in the Eastern Townships. The Ligue du Hockey À Bout de Souffle (LBS) is returning for its third season this summer, bringing expanded divisions and high-tempo hockey to Bishop’s University.
Co-founder Nicolas Guay says the league was originally created in 2024 by local professional players looking for competitive games before heading overseas for training camps in Europe. Starting with only three teams, the league later expanded after attracting interest from players across the region because of its fast-paced format and organized structure.
The following season, organizers added U14, U18, and junior divisions. Unlike traditional hockey leagues, play restarts immediately after goals in order to maintain speed and continuous action, creating what Nicola describes as a more entertaining experience for players and spectators alike.
This year, the LBS is introducing a new women’s professional division while also relocating games to Bishop’s University. Organizers say the eight-week season will include music, refreshments, and free admission throughout the summer.
More information is available on the league’s Facebook page, Ligue du Hockey À Bout de Souffle: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61560855455848
