Bromont, January 21, 2025 – The Velodrome in Bromont, Quebec, is a transformative hub for the cycling community. Frédéric Tremblay, event coordinator at this state-of-the-art facility, shared insights into its role in advancing the sport. From recreational events to elite competitions, the velodrome accommodates all cycling disciplines, fostering both development and high-performance levels.
Before the velodrome’s establishment, Quebec cyclists faced limited options for winter training, often traveling out-of-province. As one of only three fully covered tracks in Canada, Bromont has significantly enhanced athlete development. “The progression curve in the last two years has been exponential,” Tremblay noted, with local athletes now frequently dominating podiums.
Recently, the velodrome hosted a C2 international event, drawing athletes from six countries, including England, Jamaica, and Uzbekistan. This event, a critical step toward the World Cup, showcased the venue’s capacity for high-stakes competition. The intimate setting, combined with the high-speed action, creates a thrilling experience for spectators. “Even if you’re not a cycling fan, it’s an exciting sport to watch,” Tremblay said.
Dedicated to nurturing talent, the velodrome also supports youth and para-athlete programs, making it a training hub for Olympic and Paralympic athletes. With tickets priced at $10-$15, it remains accessible for all sports enthusiasts.
