SHERBROOKE, January 10, 2025On Wednesday morning, following received information, officers were dispatched to 2389 Hertel Street, at the UPS service center. Reports indicated that an employee had been caught stealing multiple packages. Approximately $10,000 worth of goods were recovered on-site.

The suspect, a 23-year-old man, was arrested and taken to police headquarters. A search warrant then led officers to his residence on André-Mathieu Street, where around 60 UPS delivery boxes and a variety of items—electronics, tools, clothing, jewelry, and cash totaling $10,000—were found, all directly linked to the mail thefts.

The search is ongoing as of today.

The suspect was released with a promise to appear in court and is expected to face theft charges.

The Criminal Investigations Division of the Sherbrooke Police Service will continue the detailed work of identifying the stolen packages and recovered items.
