Patterson outlines priorities as Brome Lake’s new mayor William Crooks
Sherbrooke, October 8, 2024 – Yesterday, around 1:30 p.m., employees at Metro Plouffe, located at 1175 King Street East, called emergency services to report that a man had stolen alcoholic beverages. The suspect strongly resisted when confronted by the store manager. As police were on their way, other citizens also reported the ongoing incident by calling the police.
An officer from operational support, who was nearby, quickly arrived on the scene. The suspect was eventually subdued by other officers who provided assistance. During the altercation, the manager was punched in the face and sustained a minor knee injury.
The 32-year-old man, already known to police, was arrested for armed robbery and breach of conditions. He is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
