Sherbrooke, September 18,2024 – On the morning of September 17th, 2024, around 9 a.m., a plainclothes officer in Sherbrooke alerted colleagues to an electric motocross bike driving on Bertrand-Fabi Street near Colbert Street. Two bicycle squad officers, who were patrolling near the Highway 410 viaduct, quickly took position in a nearby trail.

The officers soon spotted the electric motocross heading in their direction. Upon seeing the police, the young driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wooded area. The officers immediately provided medical assistance, and the two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Multiple citations were issued to the driver, including driving without a license, unregistered vehicle, driving without a helmet on an off-road vehicle, reckless driving, carrying a passenger on a single-seat vehicle, and driving a road vehicle on a trail. A mechanical inspection notice was also issued as the vehicle appeared to lack proper brakes.

The passenger was also cited for riding on a single-seat vehicle and not wearing a helmet.
