Our Mission

CJMQ 88.9 FM is a community non-profit radio station dedicated to serving the English-speaking population of the Eastern Townships. Our mission is to connect, inform, and strengthen our community by delivering local news, music, cultural programming, and opportunities for participation.

CJMQ is the voice of the English-speaking community in Sherbrooke and across the region. We are powered by a team of staff, volunteers, and supporters who believe in the value of local media that reflects the diversity of our community.

What We Do

• Local News & Information – We provide timely coverage of municipal affairs, events, and issues that matter to our community.

• Music & Culture – Our programs showcase a wide variety of music, from local talent to international sounds, while highlighting cultural life in the Townships.

• Community Programming – Volunteers bring their unique voices and ideas to the air, ensuring that CJMQ represents many perspectives.

• Events & Outreach – From Radio Bingo to live broadcasts, we create spaces where people can gather, participate, and celebrate together.

Our Non-Profit Status

As a non-profit organization, CJMQ reinvests all resources directly into our station. Every donation, sponsorship, or membership supports programming, equipment, training, and outreach that benefit the community we serve. We are accountable to our members and committed to remaining a trusted local voice.
