Sherbrooke, March 27, 2025 – A 55-year-old man was arrested last night in Sherbrooke following multiple reports of death threats directed at building security personnel.

The situation began around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, when security guards at a local apartment building contacted police to report that a tenant had issued death threats during an earlier intervention. Sherbrooke Police opened an investigation immediately, with the Criminal Investigations Division taking over the case.

Later that evening, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the same individual called building security again to complain about excessive noise from another tenant. The man reportedly warned that if security did not address the issue, he would take matters into his own hands using Katana-style swords.

Police launched a tactical response at the apartment building located on 3ième Avenue to ensure a safe arrest. The operation concluded around 9:30 p.m. without incident.

The suspect, who is well known to authorities, remains in custody. He is expected to be questioned by investigators today and will appear in court to face charges of uttering death threats and breaching probation.
