Sherbrooke, January 27, 2026 — Acclaimed singer-songwriter Matt Andersen has announced the Canadian leg of The Hammer & The Rose Tour, with a stop in Sherbrooke on February 12 at the iconic Théâtre Granada.

As part of a 25-date tour across nine Canadian provinces, Andersen will be joined by special guest Mariel Buckley, the Calgary-based alt-folk singer-songwriter.

The tour supports Andersen’s 11th studio album, The Hammer & The Rose, released earlier this year on Sonic Records. The album has earned widespread praise, with Rolling Stone noting that “some of the best Americana music is being made by a Canadian songwriter.” Known for his prolific writing, powerful voice, and captivating live performances, Andersen delivers what many consider his most intimate and nuanced work to date.

Recorded live in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and produced by percussionist Joshua Van Tassel, The Hammer & The Rose takes a stripped-down approach compared to Andersen’s previous album, The Big Bottle of Joy, a JUNO Award nominee in 2023. The record blends folk, blues, and gospel, and features musicians Afie Jurvanen and Christine Bougie of Bahamas, along with Aaron Comeau on keyboards, Kyle Cunjak on acoustic bass, and Van Tassel on percussion.

Whether performing with a full band or alone with an acoustic guitar, Matt Andersen brings a lifetime of musical experience to every note. His commanding voice, natural charisma, and masterful presence have been shaped by decades of performances in intimate clubs and grand theatres around the world. His body of work has accumulated over 33 million Spotify streams and 30 million YouTube views.

Throughout his career, Andersen has headlined major festivals and venues across North America, Europe, and Australia, and has shared the stage with artists such as Marcus King, Beth Hart, Gregg Allman, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Randy Bachman, Serena Ryder, and Tab Benoit.
