CJMQ 88.9 FM — also available on 103.9 via Videotron and 104.7 on Cogeco cable systems — is a non-profit, community radio station proudly serving the Eastern Townships.

We have been the voice of the Townships since November 11, 1995, and continue to deliver locally produced English-language broadcasting that informs, connects, and entertains.

Our Mission

As a registered not-for-profit organization, our mission is to:

• Reflect and serve the diverse cultural fabric of the Eastern Townships.

• Provide a reliable platform for local news and community voices.

• Support local businesses and non-profit groups by offering affordable, effective advertising.

• Promote a wide range of music, culture, and perspectives not often found in mainstream media.

• Train and mentor new DJs, journalists, and media creators, helping the next generation develop broadcasting skills.

Our Activities

• Local News & Community Reporting: Keeping listeners informed with timely, relevant updates.

• Diverse Programming: A full schedule of music, talk, and cultural shows, produced by both students and community volunteers.

• Community Support: Partnering with non-profit organizations and community initiatives across the Townships.

• Events & Engagement: Hosting and supporting local festivals, fundraisers, and live broadcasts.

• DJ Training & Media Production: Providing opportunities for students and residents to learn broadcasting, radio production, and podcasting.

• Advertising for Local Businesses: Offering a strong, affordable promotional platform to reach a regional audience of more than 350,000 people.

Our Reach

• On air at 88.9 FM since 1995.

• Power increased in 1998 to 500 watts and again in 2007 to 2000 watts, extending our signal across much of the Eastern Townships.

• Streaming 24/7, 365 days a year, available on FM, cable, and online.
